Loved it. Peace, tranquility. Booked for 3 nights, but the place is so beautiful we stayed an extra night. The toilets and shower block is spotless and deserves 5*. The shop has everything you need, can also order fresh bread. Even a freezer with ice-creams, what more do you need on a hot day and everything is reasonably priced. Very quiet when we arrived, but even with several more campers at the week-end, everyone was so spread about; it was still idyllic for a peaceful camping experience. A lovely village pub is quite close by with good food. Jen has gone above and beyond to make sure there is everything you could possibly need, blankets for a cold night, bug spray, the list goes on. Plenty of information for different walks and places to visit. Can't wait to return.

Wow! Where do I start! Everything about this campsite was perfect, we have stayed at a lot of campsites, but this was definitely our favourite!|Easy to book, instant reply to emails, friendly, helpful welcome as soon as we got there and throughout our stay.|There is also a little information shed with maps and leaflets for the local area. Plenty of parking and wheelbarrows to transport your belongings from car to pitch.|Stunning campsite where you get to choose from a woodland, meadow or next to pond pitch. We loved that it was adult only (dogs allowed) and the tents aren’t squeezed in, so plenty of space for everyone.|Benches scattered around the campsite are very handy, running water in the meadow which you can drink from.|A handy covered area where you can charge your mobiles and a fridge/ freezer to put your food in - even bags and a marker pen to write your names on. |Plentiful free fire pits, BBQ’s and stands are available, and logs, charcoal and kindling are available to purchase.|There is a little shop that has all the essentials you need including food, alcohol, toiletries etc.|On to the toilet and shower blocks - absolutely spotless, and like something you would find in a good quality pub, rather than a campsite! |Love the added touches of the radio playing, hairdryer, quality soap, hand dryer, warm blankets, hot water bottles and a kettle for if you get cold in the night.|There are two large washing up areas with washing up liquid, clothes and scourers. |Plenty of bins around the campsite including recycling bin.|There is a lovely picturesque country pub about a 25 minute walk away serving food.|Every little detail had been thought of to make the perfect, relaxing stay.|We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back very soon! Thank you so much.

Great little campsite Very clean and quiet. Lots of small touches to make camping so much easier like plenty of hooks in large showers, blankets to borrow if you're cold, bug spray, kettle and tables and chairs provided. There's a campers kitchen with phone charging point, fridges and freezer plus seating with candles. All very lovely. This is an adults only and tent only campsite which is rare and much appreciated by those of us who work all year with children and need a quiet break!! The shop has all essentials at a very reasonable price and Jen is really friendly and approachable. Thoroughly recommend this little gem of a campsite.

Rural idyll? Tick! Adults only? Tick! Fantastic facilities? Tick! This is the only site that we've visited that we were the ONLY CAMPERS for our 3 night stay this week! We had acres of field and woodland to ourselves! We may be spoilt for our next visit, but this is such a perfect site that it would be great anytime. We chose to pitch in a sunny, grassy clearing between some tall 'Christmas' trees, not far from the Elephant Shed and wash blocks. The whole site is lovingly maintained by Jen and Larry. The excellent wash locks are spotless. The showers were instant, hot and powerful. There is a power point in the Ladies for a hairdryer. There were generous touches; spare sleeping bags, blankets, hot water bottles to borrow. Fire baskets and barbecues were stacked neatly undercover, ready to use. Seasoned wood is only £5 for a big crate and just ask Jen for charcoal. The fridges, freezer and phone charging point were very useful. In the information shed there were mapped walks with printed copies that could be used. There were even discount cards for the local pub! We found the area charming. Quiet villages, great pubs with excellent food. Lots of glass houses growing veg and fruit. Roadside stalls sell seasonal supplies at reasonable prices with honesty boxes. There is even a farm shop within walking distance. The main A12 is easily accessed (but not heard!) for visits to beaches, quaint downs and interesting sites. Probably our new favourite campsite. We'll be back!

Perfect detox! Our umpteenth stay here and, once again, just perfect! Being Essex based, when I announce that I'll be spending a week of my treasured holidays in Suffolk, in a tent (!), my work colleagues often raise their eyebrows quizzically! Of course, the truth is that you need to go a long way to find such a great campsite, lovely countryside and sea air (just a short bike ride away) within such close proximity of one another. I think the site was full on our arrival, but you'd never know it! Unbelievable late August weather added the cherry to the top of our slow-down holiday! Don't come here if you want clubhouses or to be able to play loud music! However, if your idea of relaxation is spending an evening under a starlit sky and in front of a crackling fire listening to owls calling, this is for you. Whether camping in the woodland or on the open areas, you can be sure that life will feel a little better - even if it rains! Jen and Larry really do run a fantastic site here and I look forward to many more visits. Only one negative - my 'phone actually had improved signal over my last visit! I'll leave it at home next time!

Hands down best campsite This is an absolute gem of a camp site. Truly special in that it has a superb relaxed vibe, without attracting hoards of 'relaxed' (i.e. noisy) people. I came back feeling relaxed and refreshed. I actually stayed July 2017 but forgot to leave a review at that time and having just been camping at the weekend I was reminded that I need to go back here! We fell asleep really early (quiet time after 10pm) and slept in until about 11am.... that says it all. No screaming children. No children full stop. No loud groups of adults. Camped in the shade of the forest. BLISS The attention to detail the owners have put into the site is incredible. - Friendly welcome -The shower and toilet blocks are like boutique hotel facilities they are so good! Great style, lots of hot water and they are clean and lovely. - Covered area you can use to sit / cook if the weather is bad. - Freezer for refreezing your ice blocks. - Little touches like a stack of blankets so you can grab an extra one if you're cold, and bug spray available You can choose your pitch and go for grass pitch or woodland which I loved, we went for the edge of the forest and there was a wood table and chairs next to the pitch we used to eat at. Plenty of flat ground. I think you can have a fire pit but we didn't bother. The local area is great - lots of walks or bike rides and an easy hop in the car to tourist sites. We actually didn't do as much as we intended to do because the campsite was so relaxing! For me, it is a bonus that cars are not allowed on the pitches. I hate camping with cars driving around the tent and ruining the view. You can get pretty close, and there are wheelbarrows available to move your stuff. Overall this is a 6* luxury camping experience and I hope it doesn't get too popular before I get back! ;-)

A beautiful place - away from it all An amazing chance to camp in the woods. There are no limits or restrictions to where you can pitch your tent. You are surrounded by christmas trees. Walk around and find your own little niche and pitch your tent. Grab yourself a fire pit and a BBQ, and settle in. Watching the sun go down, and seeing all the little fire pits lighting up the woods is a sight to see. Being woken in the morning by all the different birdsong is something to experience. Beautiful shower and toilet block, an elephant barn equipped with fridge and freezers and somewhere to charge your phones if you need them! Once visited, you will go back.

Second trip This is our second stay at newbourne, first time we camped this time decided to stay in cherry tree cabin as it was our first trip as husband and wife (we got married on the Monday) stayed for 3 nights from Wednesday. The cabin was romantic as it had no electric and was lit by candlelight. The Wednesday absolutely chucked it down but made no difference to us. Toilet and shower block were 5* absolutely clean and had extras ie blankets, insect repellent if you had forgotten yours. Lovely and peaceful and not a million miles away. Will be returning

A very special campsite My gf and I have just returned from 2 nights camping here and we want to go back already. This adult-only campsite is a beautiful place to relax and get away from it all. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They have put their hearts in to the campsite and you can feel it. We picked a spot in the heart of the wooded section (you can choose from the meadow or the wood) and whilst we were close to others the trees offer the feel of seclusion. Logs and charcoal are available to buy for use in the fire bowls and bbqs that can be collected upon arrival. The toilet/showers are immaculately clean and modern - better than many hotel bathrooms. The hot water was heaven after our kayaking trip on Saturday morning in Iken. Washing up after cooking was easy in in the 2 large sinks with washing up liquid, cloths and towels all provided. The little touches such as the insect repellent in the toilets or the box of blankets for those that get cold separate this from other campsites and show the level of attention that had gone in to this wonderful place. There is plenty to do in the area from walking in the countryside to lounging on the beach in Felixstowe. Newbourne Woods was the perfect place for our weekend get away and we will definitely be going back.

Our weekend escape Our first visit to this beautiful campsite. It was the 'adults only' (no kids) that first drew us to this place. Very tranquil and peaceful. We were greeted by Jan, very nice lady and her enormous dog Barney (gentle giant). We were told we could pitch our tent anywhere and that nowhere was off limits. In the forest was lovely but we wanted to be in the sun so pitched just on the edge of the forest. Toilets and showers very clean, insect spray available to use just in case you forgot yours. Lovely little communal covered area in case of rain with log burner. A real gem this place. Lets hope it doesn't get so popular that you won't be able to get on here as it only has 20 pitches. Will definitely be back. Thanks Larry & Jan, see you again soon From Paul & Paula

Had a lovely weekend staying at the Newbourne Woodland Campsite. It's a beautiful campsite with lots of choice of where to pitch - open space, woodland area, more hidden grassy areas. Facilities were kept very clean and the best I've seen on a campsite. Especially loved the spacious showers, full-length mirror and the added touch of a kettle and extra blankets in the bathroom in case you get cold. Jen was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The campsite also had an excellent shop that was stocked with everything you need (and lots of things you didn't realise you needed!) Highly recommend.

A complete escape We chose this site as it looked like a secluded getaway and we were not disappointed. Find a pitch nestled in the woodlands and set up camp. No cars in the woodland which makes it even more peaceful, wheelbarrows available to move your things to and from the car. Larry, Jen and Barney are friendly and welcoming and make sure you know where everything you need is. There is a great pub serving delicious food a short walk away. There is also a fantastic farm shop with the most amazing burgers on the way to the pub. The coast is a few miles away as are the towns of Ipswich, (lovely docklands area) and Felixstowe with its pebble beach, amusements and traditional beach huts. We also took our 2 dogs who absolutely loved it. Perfect getaway for walking, cycling and just relaxing :-)

What a gem I recently stayed in the Kingfisher Cabin which is located in the Newbourne Woodland Campsite. The cabin itself was very well put together. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were modern and had everything we needed to self cater (except maybe a toaster but the grill served us well!) Want a peaceful, idlilic, immaculate and friendly campsite? Book here now you won't be disappointed! We (2 of us) stayed here for a weekend in June. The site is immaculately kept with a choice of open field, woods or a small clearing hidden in the woods which we were lucky enough to choose! The site is adult only so in the evenings is very quiet, perfect for just sitting outside the tent and looking and listening to nature. Sinks for washing up are under cover along with fridge & freezer to use in 'The Elephant Shed', an undercover communal area with the most impressive woodburner ever! The shower & toilet block is as it describes on the website- 5 star! Lovely rainfall showers, sinks with mirrors. It's the little touches that stand out. In both gents and ladies blocks there are boxes full of blankets to borrow if the weather gets suddenly chilly and in the ladies there are hot water bottles and a kettle to fill! Fires are permitted in certain areas as long as you use a metal firepit (free to borrow). Crates of logs are always available to buy. We came across a lovely little cast iron chimenea which kept us warm sitting outside the tent in the evenings. A small shop has basic provisions. There are lots of local walks printed on A4 paper to take and use. Every detail is taken care of! I can't put into words just how beautiful this site is. Nature all around along with pure relaxation & peace will see us returning very soon! If you're a couple after a quiet spot then this is the place for you. Many thanks to Jen & Larry and we'll see you soon!

Just happened to be evening entertainment the weekend we decided to visit. 4 local guys on acoustic guitars singing classic songs on a trailer late into the night whilst the drinks were flowing, great vibes all around. Half an hour from our front door but felt a million miles away from home.Everything is in close proximity, Accessible parking, a separate field area and lovely pitches for tents, use of wheelbarrows to help get all your camping gear to and from your cars. Great block with showers and great washing up facilities. Proper camping with the option of a shower basically. Lots of lovely farm shops nearby where you can purchase local food and drink to prepare whilst camping and a pub not too far away. Log burners and bbq's to borrow and lots of charcoal and firewood reasonably priced. Every little angle is covered and pre-planned with this site and is a real hidden gem. If you are looking for adult only camping this place will be ideal ! Will definatly be going again.

Excellent! We only stayed for one night, as we were testing out some new camping equipment. Greeted by Jen, who was very friendly and relaxed. Shhhh.... keep it to yourself! This was our third visit to the wonderful Newbourne Woodland campsite. We stayed in Kingfisher Cabin, which is an amazing glamping habitat. Jen and Larry (the owners) have thought of everything, down to the tiniest detail. They'd even ordered fabulous weather for the bank holiday so that we could sit on the new decking over the lake and read our books, that's if we weren't watching the family of ducks sploshing around or seeking the elusive kingfisher. It's relatively private and secluded, just the odd tent in sight. There's a real toilet...(glampers will understand the term 'real', being added!), along with a lovely hot shower. The kitchen is well equipped, a fridge with ice box, cooker, microwave and kettle. I challenge you to want for anything, pots and pans, cutlery and utensils, tea, coffee, oil and seasoning, scales and jugs, pretty little egg cups (which I insisted in using on our last morning despite the fact my husband doesn't even like boiled eggs! The lounge area has books and scrabble, along with a new addition, a tv/dvd player. There are plenty of blankets and a wood burning stove to keep you cosy, along with electric heaters if the great British weather decides to frown upon you. On the large decked area there's a BBQ with utensils in the dining area to the front of the cabin. Beyond the decking there is also a fire pit, which the visiting pheasants seemed quite curious about. Supplies had been .... ummmm....supplied!, special offerings of milk, eggs, tomatoes, jam, chocolates, wine, bread and butter. Our dog was as welcomed as us, with a bowl of water and a jar of snacks all ready for our arrival. There are some amazing walks in the area, each one leading to a pub! We parked behind the Maybush (just £1 for 3 hours) and walked along the river, returning some hours later for a well earned liquid refreshment. Can't wait to return to this fabulous place.

Happiness Is Here! We have visited Newbourne Woodland Campsite twice now, once as campers and most recently in Hawthorn Cabin. There aren't enough words to give this gem a suitably glowing review! It is peaceful and tranquil, the number of visitors is kept low and you can choose your pitch- woodland or meadow. The washroom facilities are better than some hotels I've stayed at and the owners really have thought of everything! This time staying in Hawthorn Cabin couldn't have been better. The love and attention that has gone into creating the cabin cannot be overlooked, from the silent fan to the citronella incense sticks everything has been thought of. The owners and their lovely dog Scoobs are a breath of fresh air and so hard working. When staying in the cabin make sure you keep a look out over the meadow for the abundance of wildlife that visit- the binoculars are there for a reason! Covid safety has also been thought of in the camp grounds but not too overbearing, the gentle and thoutful touch- just like everything else at Newbourne! We will be back to visit soon ✨

If you're looking for a peaceful well run campsite you can't get any better than this the campsite consists of open area with small copies of trees and a thickly wooded area....so you can choose where to set up. They never take more than 18 campers so it's never overrun. You can have a firepit and a BBQ all of which are supplied on site along with charcoal and wood which is honesty bound if you use you let them know and I think it's about 8 pounds something of that order we brought our own but you could pitch up with nothing .... there is also a little shop up at the top The showers and ablutions are second to none extremely modern and clean with classic fm playing Just down the road 0.8 mile there is a lively chocolate box type pub called the Fox ..very popular... this is a must visit great food 18 to 25 pounds per person ....and great fun walking back in the dark. I think it's one of the very nicest campsites I've been to over the years.

Lovely campsite will definately return! Camped in the wooded area for 2 nights with my partner in August, was made to feel very welcome by Jen and all the fellow campers were very friendly too! Very clean site and love all the little touches, in the mornings there was fresh tomatoes, lettuce etc in a little basket for people to buy which I thought was a great idea! There are blankets in the ladies for you to borrow if you get a bit chilly at night and insect repellent, hand cream etc free to use. If you want to use a hairdryer take one with you as there is a power point in the ladies but no hairdryer. I think this is a great idea as have been to other campsites that do provide hairdryers which you pay for and your money only lasts seconds. The wood crates for £5 each were a great bargain and nice large logs kept our fire going for hours. very peaceful site and lovely sitting around in the evening seeing all the campfires burning and crackling. The elephant shed was very sweet, we didn't use it ourselves but a fab idea! We walked to The Fox Inn pub one day which was a 20 min walk approx. its a lovely pub and great food with very friendly staff, the car park is a little snug when its busy! Along the walk to the pub we came across a little shop selling fresh produce which had a great variety! This was about half way to the pub so about 10 minutes walk from the campsite. There was also a few people selling strawberries, egg's and veg/fruit from their driveways. It isn't a huge campsite but there was plenty of space and although was fully booked did not feel crowded at all. There are 3 main areas, the field, the woods and the wooded clearings, If you want one of the wooded clearings arrive early! Though we preferred the woods. We will definitely return next year and invite a couple of friends along :-)

This is the best campsite I’ve ever been to so peaceful very pretty and the owner Jen has thought of absolutely everything you could possibly need the on-site shop have every thing you could possibly need when camping and probably forgot. The showers and toilets are like something from a hotel very clean with nice blankets and multiple hot water bottles and a kettle for in case you’re cold on a chillier night. I especially liked the Radio being left on so when you have to go into the toilet in the middle of the night, there’s gentle music playing. And best of all you get to choose where you pitch up on a nice open field or in the more secluded area with trees or even just use a tarp and hammock in the woods perfect getaway.

We’ve camped around England, Scotland and Wales, and this is the best campsite we’ve stayed at. Jan and her husband have thought of everything.. a welcome room full of Suffolk books and walking guides, enough fire pits for all campers to borrow, modern and clean washing facilities with blankets and hot water bottles, wheel barrows to help you carry your tents and bags to your pitch and even a little shed shop full of any goodies you might have forgotten. And this isn’t even mentioning the beautiful scenery and perfect location of the site. Surrounded my suffolks beautiful countryside and 15 minute walk to a quaint pub. If you’re looking for a peaceful and tranquil campsite to unwind and re charge I recommend you book here. Can’t wait to come back.

Highly recommended! Me and a friend have just returned from a 3 night stay at Newbourne Woodland Campsite, and it was by far the best camp site we've been to! We were welcomed upon arrival by Jen and beautiful Barney the resident dog! They have thought of absolutely everything on site, from the elephant shed where campers can chill out together in front of a fire, to the phone charging point, to the free fire pits and barbeques! The toilet block is amazing too, it's a real touch of luxury which is always nice when camping! (especially when it rains and you're covered in mud!). The owners have even included little extras like bug spray, sting cream and boxes of blankets and sleeping bags if you've forgotten yours or you're chilly! We brought my dog along which I highly recommend doing as the area is so dog friendly (make sure to go to Sizewell Beach with your canine friend if you get the chance!) she loved camping and playing with Barney. The site is adults only which was excellent as it was always so peaceful and everybody was so friendly, and no screaming kids! Yay! I definitely recommend this camp site to everyone - I cannot fault it in any way. If you don't chose to visit you are missing out!

Beautiful location with great facilities. I have stayed at Newbourne Woodland Campsite a few times now and absolutely love it! It is an adult only site so is great for a getaway with the husband and friends. Beautiful grounds and the facilities are brilliant. The toilets are always lovely and clean and the shower is to die for! Free use of barbeques and fire pits is a wonderful idea and you can buy a crate of logs at a very good price. There is also use of a fridge, a freezer and a phone charging point in a communal area which all make this a fantastic place to camp! We will definitely be coming again and again!

The perfect, chillaxing getaway! We stayed here for ten nights recently, attracted not only by the location but the fact that it was an adults only site and was "dog friendly". When we arrived we fel instantly relaxed and were looking forward to the days ahead. The setting was "heaven", so much space and so tranquil. The owners advised, in the information hut, that we should select a spot and pitch up and they would catch up with us shortly. We did just that and immediately felt at home. The shower block was superb...always clean and with those extra touches such as insect repellant, a hairdryer and kettle should you require them. There was the loan of firepits and charcoal available made on site. The information hut offered details of local attractions and even had local walks written up to take with you. A handy little shop and within walking distance to The Fox, a fabulous local pub. We met some lovely people and had a fabulous stay. Thank you Jen, Larry and Scoobs!

peaceful get away! We recently stayed in the kingfisher cabin which was a relaxing stay. The owner has thought of everything to ensure your stay is to good standard. I loved the fact she had a information hut on the site with all the places to go visit of days out, near by pubs and local shops and cafe so that you Have plenty to do during your stay. We visited a fort that was only a 15minute drive away and it was a lovely day out. I would definitely reccommend this place for anyway who is looking for a relaxing get away as itt was just lovely to be in the country away from everything.

Second visit to Newbourne campsite. The first being in 2021. This campsite is just as brilliant as we remembered and it was lovely to share it with our friends who also loved it. |The site is spacious and has different levels and trees to make it feel really private. There’s space in the field or in the woodland. The tents aren’t on top of each other and everyone respects each others space because you get to choose your spot. The scenery is beautiful too and it’s perfectly located with lots of walks with pubs along the way. Would highly recommend the maybush inn. It’s adults only so lovely and quiet and everyone is respectful of noise. The fire pit was a highlight on one of the nights as it was a bit chilly. The shower block is always clean and tidy and calming. Jen the owner has really paid attention to detail on this campsite and there is a little shop for emergency bits if needed. We would highly recommend to campers wanting some peace and relaxation whilst camping. This really is a little haven, we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Summer Camp Lovely small and quiet camp where you can put your tent amongst the trees or outskirts - you pick your spot. Immaculate shower block with nice extra thoughtful touches like mozzie spray if you've forgotten yours and blankets. There was a lovely fire burner in a little nook and fire pits you could take to your pitch. Don't forget to take a good light so you can find your back to your tent! The Fox Inn nearby served delicious food, you'll find a money off voucher in the camp info hut which we found after we had rushed out to eat ! Not far from lots of places to visit including Felixstowe for a bit of seaside charm. Needing breakfast, the owner even showed us the way to the Holeshot cafe which is a converted coach!

a camping treasure, gem of a place, away from it all and with excellent facilities This is an wonderful destination. Easily accessible, yet when you get there a haven of peace and tranquility. It's wonderful to camp and know that you won't be surrounded by caravans and campervans as big as small houses, no vehicles, no noise, no pollution. A vast site, but the policy of restricting the numbers means that it is never crowded. With this comes a modern and scrupulously clean toilet bock, a freezer and a fridge and a place to charge electical equipment. What else can you possibly want. We're in danger of always choosing to go there, other sites never reach the same level of satisfaction.

Great campsite What a great campsite! Great surroundings and facilties...BBQ's and firepits you can borrow and chopped up wood for £5 per crate. Jen even goes to the effort of leaving spare sleeping bags, blankets and hot water bottles in the ladies facilities. Fridges, freezer and even an electronics charging up box free for people to use. Weekend break We stayed here 5-6 September and had a fantastic time. The campsite is lovely and we pitched our tent in the woodland in a little clearing. There was a pub style bench right by us which made cooking and eating so much easier. Given the chilly weather the complementary blankets and use of a pit pit really made the night fantastic. A lot has been said about the waning and toilet facilities - all I can say is they really are that excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed the campsite and the country walks to The Fox Inn and to Waldringfield an the Maybush were great - made easier by the maps provided by the campsite. We shall definately be coming back!

Amazing facilities & so peaceful I joined my family camping for a few nights at Newbourne and can't recommend enough! The facilities are absolutely amazing (probably the best we have encountered at a campsite!) there are fridge/freezers available, a phone charging point and benches/tables available for guests use. The toilet and shower block is very well maintained and cleaned to a very high standard, there are waterfall showers which are heavenly after a busy day sightseeing. There is also a kettle in the bathroom (perfect for hot water bottles on an evening!). The campsite is located in a quiet peaceful landscape surrounded by fields and farmland so offers a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle! Very enjoyable and peaceful trip- just wish it could have been a longer stay.

Best campsite we have stayed in! Wow! Where do I start! Everything about this campsite was perfect, we have stayed at a lot of campsites, but this was definitely our favourite! Easy to book, instant reply to emails, friendly, helpful welcome as soon as we got there and throughout our stay. There is also a little information shed with maps and leaflets for the local area. Plenty of parking and wheelbarrows to transport your belongings from car to pitch. Stunning campsite where you get to choose from a woodland, meadow or next to pond pitch. We loved that it was adult only (dogs allowed) and the tents aren’t squeezed in, so plenty of space for everyone. Benches scattered around the campsite are very handy, running water in the meadow which you can drink from. A handy covered area where you can charge your mobiles and a fridge/ freezer to put your food in - even bags and a marker pen to write your names on. Plentiful free fire pits, BBQ’s and stands are available, and logs, charcoal and kindling are available to purchase. There is a little shop that has all the essentials you need including food, alcohol, toiletries etc. On to the toilet and shower blocks - absolutely spotless, and like something you would find in a good quality pub, rather than a campsite! Love the added touches of the radio playing, hairdryer, quality soap, hand dryer, warm blankets, hot water bottles and a kettle for if you get cold in the night. There are two large washing up areas with washing up liquid, clothes and scourers. Plenty of bins around the campsite including recycling bin. There is a lovely picturesque country pub about a 25 minute walk away serving food. Every little detail had been thought of to make the perfect, relaxing stay. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back very soon! Thank you so much.

What a gem of a place! It’s hard to know where to begin describing this fabulous idyllic place. Driving through the village you immediately get a sense of what’s to come, residents have barrows set up selling home grown produce, everyone gives way down the single lane and as far as you can see it’s just beautiful farmlands. On my arrival Jen (the owner) came out to greet me and directed me to Cherry Tree Cabin. No 15 minute lecture about rules and regulations just basic information and a request to relax and enjoy. A short walk through the woods revealed the most amazing accommodation. Wheelbarrows are available to transport your gear. A very spacious one room cabin with 2 single beds awaited me with plenty of places to hang your clothes, an abundance of blankets and lovely little touches like pictures and tapestries which make the place very unique and homely. There is an outside kitchen with 2 gas ring burners and every cooking utensil you could think of. There’s a table and chairs on the deck and then down a couple of steps to the fire pit and another couple of relaxing chairs. The view is breathtaking overlooking the water meadow and within 5 minutes I had seen my first herd of about 5 deer. There’s no electricity which makes it even more special but there are loads of candles which light up the cabin and plenty of solar lights outside. There’s a small electric fan heater type of thing which just took the edge off the chilly nights. The facilities at this site are second to none! You can pitch your tent wherever you like, be that on the open grass or nestled away in the woods. There are BBQs and fire pits to use, logs and home made charcoal are available at a small cost. The shower/toilet block is the cleanest and the most well thought out I have ever seen. There’s hand soap, cream, electric points, a hairdryer and a kettle. Together with blankets and insect repellent. Showers are on a push timer but were spacious, strong and hot! There’s a communal undercover area which houses fridge/freezers and an electric box to charge your phone. Washing up bases were also fully equipped with washing up liquid/sponges/clothes and lovely hot water. The camp runs on trust and honesty, how refreshing in this day and age! there’s a small shop just up by the main house which has everything you might need or have forgotten, take what you want and jot it down in the book, settle up when you leave! there’s a pub in the village but I didn’t visit. But the nature reserve just passed it is beautiful, saw my first muntjac deer! Nearby there’s Woodbridge and Wickham Market which are quaint little towns full of quirky little shops and Felixstowe beach was about a 15 minute drive, if you can drag yourself away from the peace and tranquility of the camp that is! I travelled alone and I felt very safe. It really was the perfect retreat to have some quality ‘me’ time, there is something very cathartic about sitting outdoors in front of a roaring fire listening to the wildlife (owls, foxes, deers, birds) I stayed for 3 nights but 4 or 5 would’ve been ideal. I will definitely be back next year! Thank you Jen and Larry for the most wonderful few days! You have got this absolutely spot on!

A weekend with nature. Decided to book this campsite because it is dog friendly and liked the idea of camping in the woods and so glad we did. We arrived mid afternoon on Friday and signed in in the information office, grabbed a wheelbarrow and headed into the woods with our tent etc. There's quite a few small clearings in between the pine trees and we soon found one free, even had a water tap. After setting up camp and having a few cold beers we had a little wonder around and everyone seemed very friendly. The shower block and toilets are probably the best I've seen on a campsite anywhere. Nice covered communal area too with fridges and freezer and also power to charge your phone ( not that there's much reception, which is good). We walked to the local pub for dinner and a drink on both evenings with Otis our lab. Saturday we went to old Felixstowe and spent some of the day on the beach. It's only a few miles from the campsite. Sunday we packed up quite early as the forecast was'nt good so unfortunately we had gone by 10 am but we did find 3 natterjack toads had set up camp under our tent! Can't recommend Newbourne Woodland Campsite enough. Thanks to Jen and her husband. Hopefully we'll be back soon. Andrew, Gail & Otis Cunningham.

Where do I start! ||||This place is so lovely, from the very start the owners made us feel welcome and and they were so laidback. You can pitch where you like and once saying hello you are sent off to find your spot. ||||The grounds were tidy and just beautoful - and it was lovely to have the option for either meadow or woodland camping! We chose the woods - which worked nicely for us as we were close to the facilities and love wildlife! Which if you do love wildlife it is incredible for!|||| We had a couple pheasants that wandered around our camp every day we named the fella Phillip lol. Deer, rabbits everything! We see the lot - and I see a review about bringing ear plugs as the sounds of the birds start very early! But dont be fooled into thinking its overbearing - the sounds of the birds were beautiful and was amazing to fall asleep to them all saying goodnight and again in the morning! ||||The toilets/shower block was very clean and tidy and the showers were incredible! I didn't ever want to get out! Me and my partner loved all the little extras like the hot water bottles (which saved us at night time!) and blankets etc. ||||There is also a fridge and a charging station which we wasnt pepared for so was such a lovely touch! It was super quiet when we went with only 2 other pitches when we arrived and it was the perfect time for peace and some tranquility! ||||Our car even broke down and the owners were more than helpful - allowing us to park outside their home and checking on us.||||An amazing adults only getaway and me and my partner will most definetly be back again not only for camping but for the cabins too!

Outstanding campsite amazing facilities very well thought and maintained. Five stars for the showers don't quite adequately give an idea how good they are. The whole site has quirky but tasteful features. The shop is a veritable Aladdins cave. I have never been anywhere with as much space. Had a couple of very nice evenings in the elephant shed when is was raining it was more like being in the himalayas than Suffolk. It is well located for both walking and cycling. There are also loads of stalls outside peoples houses selling local produce. Definitely want to come back.

This is a small, peaceful campsite that is adults-only. You can pitch on the grass areas or under the trees. An excellent base for exploring beautiful Coastal Suffolk We camped at Newbourne Woodlands whist re-visiting this beautiful part of the world after an absence of some 31 years. The site was excellent, well-managed with facilities spotless and beyond anything encountered on previous camping trips in the UK. The owners have really raised the bar for campsite standards and we would recomend the site without reservation. Back to basics luxury I could never understand why people buy gems only to hide them away in a safe, but this is how I feel about s campsite. I want to keep it to myself. Pitch your tent wherever, light your fire in the fire pits provided, snuggle up warm with extra blankets and take in the views. 5* showers add to the enjoyment. What a great place.Firstly arriving at the site the owners are very warm and welcoming, giving you all of the information you need.Once on the site it is outstanding to look at, well kept fields, good amount of trees. Was lovely to stay in a place of such beauty. The choice of where to pitch your tent is probably the hardest decision you need to make.On our stay there was plenty of other campers but no one had any issues with privacy. The washroom facilities were immaculate, with theadded bonus of a few blankets and hot water bottles.I could go on about how good I found this site, but the highest recommendation is that I will definitely go back. Virgin campers Other than overnight fishing trips never been camping before. Searched web for campsites in suffolk and found Newbourne. After a couple of emails with Jen all booked in minutes. Arrived on site(windy wet cold) and Jen gave a guided tour and explained the "rules"- pretty much get on with your own thing but if you need any help give her a shout We pitched on the grass as we did not want the mud on our first outing tent went up ok. Well what you really need to hear is, Site brilliant, facilities 5*, the smallest shop but everything you may need, we could have done an evening meal and breakfast with shop purchases but took our own- know better for next time. We travelled only 50 miles to get total peace and a great time with log fires and bbq's we intend to return in August. Although we have not been to other sites what we got from other campers this site is well up amongst the best. They say first memories last, mine will!! A 5* campsite We have stayed at Newbourne a few times now, and are heading back next month with some friends so they can enjoy it too. The campsite is very well run, nice and relaxed and the perfect place to escape from the bustle of the world for a few days. You have the option to camp in the field area or the woods, both of which are lovely. It can get chilly in the woods in late season so it's nice to have the sunnier option of the fields if you like. There are fire pits for use, garden furniture around the site if you want to a picnic bench to sit at, and BBQs to borrow if you want them. The facilities are out of his world, I never thought I'd look forward to camping because I couldn't wait to use the showers but the wet rooms and rainfall showers are just beautiful. They have thought of all the added extras such as blankets and hot water bottles for chilly evenings, power points and a freezer if you need them, and a little shop for anything you may have forgotten. We love Newbourne and will definitely be returning again next year :)

Love staying at this campsite. The host is very welcoming and great facilities. Lovely showers and if staying in a cottage, kitchen facilities provided and heating in the cottage if cold. Would recommend 👌

Best camping site yet, and I’ve stayed in a few! Fabulous. Hosts (Jen & Larry & dog) have thought of everything. Peaceful, beautiful & truly relaxing. Go, you won’t be disappointed. The shop is well stocked & fairly priced, BBQ’s & fire pits to use and all you need to cook & keep warm. Showers & toilets were clean at all times (2 night stay) and the fridge freezer & charging point we’re perfectly added conveniences. Just heaven.

Wonderful! Another excellent stay in a fantastically chilled environment. This site continues to get everything spot on. Great facilities, all needs considered. Spotlessly clean and incredibly well cared for. Thank you.

It's a charming location and environment. Very tranquil and spaced-out camping pitches ( you can choose where you pitch). The facilities were the best I've seen camping, and you can see the amount of thought that has been put into the design. Thank you for our lovely stay!

The best campsite I’ve been to I can’t tell you how amazing this camp site is. If you want to refresh and get away from technology then this is the place to go. Words don’t do it justice nor do they for Jen and Larry who run the campsite. The toilets/showers are in excellent condition with instant hot water and use of a kettle and hairdryer in the ladies. Jen and Larry were very friendly and helpful, making our experience at Newbourne campsite even more pleasant and memorable. The actual campsite itself is visually stunning and you feel so alive and present being in the open fields, especially when the warmth of the sun is beating down on your skin, or just being around the fire pit outside and listening to the crackling and spitting of the fire and watching the flames dance in the dark. It’s a tranquil environment which offers luxury and peace and you truly feel rejuvenated and cleansed after a visit here. Use of bbqs and fire pits are free, you just pay for wood or coal available at the campsite. There is a shop aswell just incase you forget them marshmallows to roast on the campfire at night. The memories I have made coming to Newbourne campsite are everlasting and I couldn’t be happier that we came across such an incredible, beautiful place. It is adults only which gives it even more sense of peace and you don’t have to worry about noise or being disturbed. Lot of love for this place and cannot wait to visit again next year!

Lovely adults only site Stayed here during a very hot weekend in July. We pitched up in a nice secluded plot but there are open field and woodland spots available. Fire pits are available on site as well as a tiny but well stocked shop. Amazing showers/WCs kept immaculately spotless by the owners who are friendly and welcoming. Great site to great away from it all.

High Class Camping We stayed 3 nights in September and had a really good camp. Extremely well run and organised site, friendly welcome. I have stayed in hotels with worse bathroom facilities than these! Good to have option of pitching in the woods or in the meadows. Village is an interesting place, has a pub. No children rule suited us, though obviously wouldn't suit all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay here, the owners couldn't do enough for us with the offer of hot water bottles and extra blankets if needed. As for the actual site, the facilities are amazing, the shower block and washrooms are all brand new and the spec on the inside is amazing with only the best of everything from the porcelain down to the hand soap! There are plenty of plots, both under cover of trees or in the open, and if the weather is poor there's a sizable shelter with tables and seats. So many extras here, too many to list..... Highly recommended, definitely worth a visit.

An oasis of tranquility I stayed here recently with my partner and we both absolutely loved it. It is a small campsite off the beaten track that combines meadow and woodland, and with the number of guests limited it manages to feel both cosy and spacious. In fact, as you look out over the meadows, hills and woods it is easy to believe that you are camping in open nature rather than on a campsite. There is also a pond hidden by a stand of trees - it was delightful to sit and watch the dragonflies dancing over the water. What we particularly appreciated was the fact that cars cannot drive across the site - you have to park by the entrance and use a wheelbarrow to transport your kit. Being a small site this is not an onerous task, and the lack of cars coming and going creates a real tranquility. The campsite provides barbecues and firepits free of charge (though of course you have to pay for the wood and charcoal, which are very reasonably priced). We loved being able to sit by the fire in the evening, listening to the owls hooting in the distance. The toilets and showers were great, and there is a small shop with a useful selection of goods. The information cabin has a large number of local guides and maps that you can borrow free of charge. Quite simply, I cannot fault this place, and we will definitely be returning in the future.
